How the pricing works, and why we can publish it

It is the maximum time after compounding that a preparation remains stable and safe, assigned under USP standards, and it is shorter than a commercial expiration date because a compounded preparation is made in small quantity without the preservative systems and stability program behind a mass-manufactured product.

The row that changes a buying decision is the last one. A nasal spray has 30 days from compounding, so a patient who starts a week late has already lost a quarter of the fill. RxPepsDirect serves 28 of those. A prescription needs two licenses, not one: a pharmacy licensed to dispense into the patient's state, and a prescriber licensed to practice in it. Our prescribers hold fewer state licenses than the pharmacy does, so our footprint is prescriber-limited rather than pharmacy-limited.

The exact gap is five states where the pharmacy can ship and our prescribers are not yet licensed: Georgia, Illinois, Missouri, Ohio and Oklahoma. Adding prescriber licensure in any of them expands coverage with no change at the pharmacy.
