What It Is

DSIP (Delta Sleep Inducing Peptide) is a naturally-occurring neuropeptide that promotes deep, restorative sleep. The phase where most recovery and memory consolidation occurs.

How It Works

It modulates sleep architecture to increase time spent in delta (deep) sleep, regulate cortisol release, and normalize circadian rhythms without the dependency risks of sleep medications.

Who It's For

Those with poor sleep quality, difficulty achieving deep sleep, or disrupted circadian rhythms. Shift workers and high-stress professionals.

Who Should Avoid It

Generally well-tolerated. Discuss with provider if on sleep medications.

Common questions about DSIP

What is DSIP (delta sleep-inducing peptide)?
DSIP is a 9-amino acid neuropeptide first isolated from rabbit cerebral venous blood in the 1970s. It is associated with delta-wave (slow-wave) sleep regulation, hypothalamic-pituitary-axis modulation, and stress response normalization. DSIP is studied for primary insomnia, narcolepsy support, opioid and alcohol withdrawal, and chronic pain protocols.
Does DSIP help with sleep, and is it safe?
Small clinical studies and case reports suggest DSIP can shorten sleep onset and improve sleep architecture in patients with chronic insomnia, particularly those with elevated stress markers. The peptide does not produce next-day sedation the way prescription hypnotics often do. Safety data over short-term use is reassuring; long-term data is limited. Most reported side effects are mild (occasional dose-day fatigue, mild headache).
How is DSIP dosed?
Common DSIP protocols deliver 100 to 200 mcg subcutaneously or intramuscularly 30 to 60 minutes before bed, three to seven nights per week. Optimal Balance Pharmacy compounds DSIP in a 10 mg vial against PeptideRx prescriptions; the per-vial unit conversion is on your shipment protocol sheet. Your provider sets the protocol based on your sleep history.
When should I take DSIP?
Take DSIP 30 to 60 minutes before your intended sleep time. Do not take DSIP if you need to drive or operate machinery within 8 hours. Pair with consistent sleep hygiene (cool bedroom, no screens 30 minutes pre-bed) for best effect. If you wake repeatedly through the night, message your provider to discuss whether the dose or timing needs adjustment.
How is DSIP compounded and shipped?
DSIP is compounded by Optimal Balance Pharmacy under a 503A patient-specific prescription. Every batch is tested by Eagle Analytical Services for sterility (ScanRDI or Celsis) and bacterial endotoxin (USP <85>); the Certificate of Analysis is published on this product page. The vial ships pre-reconstituted and ready to inject in cold-chain packaging with sterile insulin syringes and alcohol swabs included.
