- Tesamorelin/Ipamorelin pairs the GHRH analog tesamorelin with ipamorelin, a ghrelin receptor agonist. The two act on separate routes to pituitary growth hormone release, which is why they are combined. No controlled human trial has evaluated the combination, so whether it outperforms either ingredient alone is not established.
- How is the combo different from each peptide alone?
- The difference is mechanistic rather than demonstrated. Tesamorelin acts at the GHRH receptor and has a longer duration than sermorelin. Ipamorelin acts at the ghrelin receptor; the frequently cited finding that it produces a GH pulse without raising cortisol comes from a 1998 study in rat cells, rats and swine, so it is animal pharmacology rather than a confirmed human result. Hitting two receptor systems makes an additive effect plausible, but no combination study has measured it in people. One real distinction: tesamorelin is an FDA-approved molecule (as Egrifta, for HIV-associated lipodystrophy), whereas CJC-1295 in the comparable blend is not approved for any indication.
